Palina I is a residential development in Germasogeia, Limassol, designed by GK Architects across two scales: five individual villas and two apartment blocks totaling fifteen units. The composition steps down the hillside in horizontal layers, each level claiming its own view over the city and the landscape beyond. The building reads differently depending on where you stand — compact and grounded from the road, open and expansive from the terraces.

White plaster volumes are offset by timber cladding in the recesses, pulling warmth into a facade that could otherwise read as purely geometric. Curved balcony edges soften the horizontal rhythm without breaking it. Linear lighting traces the slab edges after dark, restating the building’s logic in a register that belongs to the evening hours. At ground level, a pool runs along the base of the structure, its surface doubling the architecture in light and reflection.
Inside, the same restraint applies. The interiors work with natural light as a primary material large openings frame specific views, and the transition between indoor and outdoor space happens gradually, through covered terraces and shaded areas that belong equally to both. IDAA developed both exterior and interior visualization for Palina I, building the renders around the quality of Cypriot light at the hours when the project shows what it actually is.
