Ovidium sits on a peninsula above the Argosaronikos Gulf. The Hive Architects organized the composition around a grid of columns and covered spaces, where structure sets the spatial logic before materiality enters. The rhythm is the argument.

The material palette — white plaster, metal columns, rammed earth, and travertine — was chosen for coherence. Each surface carries its own weight, and the transitions between smooth and rough give the eye somewhere to move without losing restraint. Rammed earth grounds the structure in the peninsula’s geology. Travertine adds a quieter permanence, one that references classical stonework without quoting it directly.
The surrounding landscape follows the same logic. Low Mediterranean shrubs frame the composition without competing with it. The geometry of the plot shapes the planting, not the other way around. IDAA translated that spatial argument into image: light, shadow, scale, and the particular quality of Aegean light on a travertine surface. The project was published in Designboom, Amazing Architecture, ArchEyes, Elle Greece, Archefeed, and Architizer.
